Iconic characters prove why GEICO customer service is best in spots from The Martin Agency

96% of customers don’t understand the fundamental aspects of their insurance policies [according to Insurify Research], so hard-selling specific features doesn’t always work. But they can relate to something that feels right, and GEICO provides that by being about more than just great savings. 

Enter GEICO Training Camp and Inescapable Gecko, GEICO’s latest creative work brought to life in partnership with long time creative AOR, The Martin Agency. This new character-specific work comes in both Gecko and Caveman flavours leaning into the humour GEICO is best known for to share a peek behind the curtain around why GEICO’s customer service is so great. 

GEICO kick off with its Gecko in GEICO Training Camp. After exploring the Gecko's legendary origin in Legend of the Lizard, GEICO Training Camp is brought to life to delve deeper into what makes him (the Gecko) an icon at work. Because delivering a great experience for GEICO customers day in and day out doesn’t just happen. It takes rigorous training and practice. We see the Gecko reiterating the GEICO difference - fast, friendly 24/7 service and an intuitive, easy-to-use (and award winning) in-app user experience in addition to the great savings GEICO is known for.  

In Inescapable Gecko, GEICO focus back on its Caveman. When you become famous for a single thing, it comes to define your life. And unfortunately, that’s just what happened to the Caveman. Famous for his role in early 2000’s GEICO commercials, he took a hiatus from that unwanted spotlight for the last decade.

 

Fast-forward to this past Super Bowl, he was brought back by GEICO in what he thought was going to be a film about him (it was really about the Gecko), he now wants
to pursue his own path to the spotlight, but he can’t seem to escape GEICO’s gravity.
While people love to remind him of GEICO’s 24/7 friendly service and 97% customer satisfaction rating, he’s tired of being overshadowed and isn’t afraid to let them know.  

Through this creative work, GEICO continues to push the strategy of providing customers value - fast, friendly 24/7 service, an intuitive, easy-to-use (and award-winning) in-app user experience and the great savings GEICO is known for.
