According to the most recent figures from the NHS, one in four adults and one in ten children experience mental illness, and many more of us know and care for people who do. Public Health England’s 'Every Mind Matters' charity and The Duke of Cambridge’s 'Heads Up' charity have collaborated on this film to support people to take simple steps to look after their mental health, improve their mental wellbeing and care for others.
The short film, which was directed by Dominic Cyriax and cut by MSE’s Owen O’Sullivan, aims to stop the stigma that surrounds mental health and encouraging fans to look after their wellbeing with free tips and practical advice on how to achieve this. Prince William, who is president of the FA and founder of the The Heads Together initiative, narrated the film.
The campaign has already successfully reached out to people with over three million people downloading the well-being app in the first three month. The latest film hopes to reach a wider audience by being broadcast before FA cup matches, in the stadium and at home.
