Firewood Marketing has been officially certified as a Women/Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
The WMBE certification process is rigorous and includes verification of the firm’s fiscal health and operational stability, a site visit to the business, and a thorough review of the majority owner’s qualifying characteristics.
Firewood qualified for the certification through the majority ownership of the husband-and-wife team of Lanya Zambrano and Juan Zambrano, a first-generation Mexican American.
“As companies look to diversify their suppliers, we wanted to share Firewood’s story and get involved in this certification program that recognises women and minority-owned businesses across California,” said Lanya Zambrano, co-founder of Firewood. “Applying for this certification also reflects our broader commitment to encouraging diversity and inclusion, particularly within the advertising and marketing industry.”
Women, minority, LGBTQ+, and disabled veteran-owned businesses are invited to apply to join the diversity supplier program. Those interested may learn more and search a list of certified providers here.
