Independent agency Fact & Fiction announces significant expansion with the addition of four agency veterans from advertising's most prestigious shops

The moves build on the agency's momentum following its transition to independence in late 2023, positioning the Boulder and Kansas City-based shop for continued growth.

Yelan Tong joins as co-chief creative officer from VML, where she served as group creative director, leading work for Microsoft, Smartwater, and Intel. Her career also includes shaping creative at agencies like MullenLowe, Deutsch, and CP+B. Her addition alongside current co-CCO Matt Clark signals an ambitious new creative direction for the agency.

"The industry needs more places where brave ideas can thrive," said Yelan Tong, co-chief creative officer. "Creative work has one job: to make people care. That's what drew me to Fact & Fiction – they've built a place where we can create work that matters."

The agency also welcomes creative director Ashley Milhollin from Saatchi & Saatchi London. She has crafted award-winning campaigns for Waitrose, Taco Bell, and Autotrader, among others, and her creative vision adds another dimension to Fact & Fiction's growing creative firepower.

Account director Matt Ornduff joins from AgencyOf, following time at VML where he led work for QuikTrip, Gatorade, and Lidl US. His approach to building strategic partnerships and meaningful client relationships strengthens the agency's ability to drive results for ambitious brands.

Alex Herz arrives with experience spanning TBWA\Chiat\Day and Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where his hybrid expertise in account and project management helped deliver complex campaigns for global brands. His addition reinforces Fact & Fiction's commitment to operational excellence without sacrificing creative ambition.

“What excites me most isn’t just their impressive backgrounds; it’s their shared belief in what an agency can be,” said Kyle Taylor, founder and CEO of Fact & Fiction. “Each of them could have gone anywhere, but they are choosing to build something at Fact & Fiction that provides the flexibility, responsiveness and creative excellence brands need right now. That shared vision and ambition will help us continue to make amazing work for our partners and have a great time while doing it.”

The expansion follows a year of significant growth for Fact & Fiction, including new client wins and the agency's transition to independence. With these strategic hires, the agency strengthens its ability to deliver innovative, creative work while maintaining the agility and entrepreneurial spirit that sets it apart.

"Clients are realizing that bigger isn’t better - better is better," Kyle added. "Amazing work results from relationships – you need the right people, the right culture, and the freedom to push boundaries. These additions give us even more firepower to deliver on that promise."
