The Effies are known by advertisers and creative agencies the world over as the gold standard in marketing effectiveness awards. For more than 50 years they have rewarded the most effective creative campaigns, recognising any and all forms of marketing that contribute to a brand’s success.
IAPI are thrilled to announce that Tom Kinsella, managing director, homes at AIB Group, will be joining us as the new Effie Awards Ireland Jury chair for 2024. He replaces the previous chair, Damian Devaney, principal & senior partner & Dsquared and TBV Global, who provided IAPI with invaluable support and guidance in the three-year set up phase and who Chaired the Effie Awards Ireland Jury in 2021 and 2023.
In his current role, Tom is responsible for running the AIB mortgage business comprising AIB, EBS and Haven. Prior to his current position in the bank, Tom was appointed chief marketing officer in 2015 having joined AIB in November 2012 as group marketing director. Before joining AIB, he worked in a variety of roles in Diageo, working locally and internationally across Europe, Asia and the Americas on a wide variety of leading brands including Guinness and Baileys.

In addition to Tom’s appointment as chair, the Effie Awards Ireland Steering Group has also expanded to welcome new members, while keeping some from previous years. The role of the Steering Group is to help and support IAPI advocate for these global effectiveness awards in the Irish market and lend their considerable expertise to the Effie programme. Stepping down from the Steering Group, having lent their considerable support and knowledge for the past three years are Neal Davies, chairman, TBWA/BBDO; Geraldine Jones, managing director, Publicis and Jonathan Conlon, chief operating officer, Group M.

Effie Awards Ireland are now entering into their third year of rewarding and celebrating the most effective marketing campaigns.
