Holler has tapped into the post-Christmas work slump for a new viral campaign to promote TravelSupermarket.
It is launching the film on 22 January – just as Britons who can’t face another dreary grey day are looking for great, last-minute winter sun deals, like those offered on Travel Supermarket.
The viral builds on a competition that Holler launched before Christmas, inviting people to send pictures of themselves enduring gloomy weather on Twitter, using the hashtag #HolidayDouble, for the chance to win not just a holiday, but someone to do their job while they are away.
The winner’s holiday double was sourced – a professional clone who can stand in for the all her professional duties, while she enjoys an all-expenses paid holiday in the Jamaican sun.
The film shows the results, with the clone attempting to live everyday life as the winner. It is supported by paid-for Twitter activity, broadcast across TravelSupermarket-owned channels, and in a media partnership with Shortlist magazine.
Darren Bentley, marketing director at TravelSupermarket said: “We were looking for a creative idea to really bring to life the joys of leaving behind the cold, wet or even snowy weather to enjoy some winter sun. The #HolidayDouble campaign was a fun way to remind customers they don’t need to wait until the summer months to get away and enjoy sunnier climes.”
Ben Swindell, Managing Partner at Holler, said: “This campaign was borne from the insight that the vast majority of us don’t want to be in this country at this time of year. Through a tongue-in-cheek campaign activation, we are positioning TravelSupermarket as the gateway to escaping this new year drudgery while removing a key barrier. Work.”
