Director duo Octane, repped by Irresistible Studios, transported the commercial world into the future in their latest TV ad 'Fixed For 2023' for giffgaff. Collaborating with creative agency Neverland, the duo offered audiences a vibrant taste of all the wondrous and absurd possibilities that await us in 2023.
In the development stages of the treatment, Octane planned to take its audience into another dimension by opting for continuous, silky-smooth cinematography and slick transitions. Under the passionate guidance of ECD Noel Hamilton, they played with several humorous vignettes that explored the bizarre but believable emerging possibilities to our world in contrast to the consistency of giffgaff’s locked-in pricing; striking a delicate balance between extraordinary scenarios and relatable characters.
In their words - "We love to move seamlessly between live action and CGI, bringing interesting characters and production design to life in a bold and full of life approach, grabbing the attention of the viewer and giving them an experience of something entertaining and memorable”.
The dynamic duo of filmmakers have over 20 years of commercial experience and are known for creating highly crafted films that span comedy, animation, lifestyle, sport, and tech. Integrating visuals with splashes of surrealism, Octane tilt toward vibrant production design, sleek camera movement, and seamless transitions. They also bring to life incredibly small and fast moments with specialist macro and hi-speed cinematography. Octane blends these methods and techniques on a cinematic canvas to create remarkable and meaningful commercials.
