On May 2, one of digital content’s biggest events of the year returns: the Digitas NewFront. Now in its sixth year, the 2013 Digitas NewFront is both an event and a marketplace, where brands meet the inventors, instigators, and creators who are breaking ground in digital content. It’s also one of the anchor events for the second annual Digital Content NewFronts, a weeklong online video and digital media marketplace with AOL, Digitas, Google/YouTube, Hulu, the Interactive Advertising Bureau, Microsoft Advertising, Yahoo!, and more.
“The Digitas NewFront has always been a barometer for what’s next in digital content,” says Tony Weisman, CEO, Digitas North America. “And with online ad spending poised to break $118 billion this year[1], our event will bring together the biggest names in digital content to not only explore the best new content for brands, but also the strategies and tactics they need to harness these opportunities with maximum impact. We’ll look at how to engage audiences in real-time, and use content to create value, relevance, and business impact for brands. ”
This year’s program, “Your Brand is Alive”, explores the real-time marketing opportunity as brands and creators evolve from campaign to “moment marketing”. The event will focus on how to leverage both content and context to ignite conversations that are relevant to consumers. The 2013 speaker line-up brings together a roster of nearly 25 thought leaders, content creators and creatives, brands, publishers, disruptors, and more:
- Adam Bain, President, Global Revenue, Twitter
- Tina Brown, Editor-in-Chief, The Daily Beast
- Jules Daly, President, RSA Films
- Mark Hans-Richer, Chief Marketing Officer, Harley-Davidson
- Arianna Huffington, Chair, President, and Editor-in-Chief, Huffington Post Media Group
- David Karp, Founder and CEO, Tumblr
- Douglas Rushkoff, Author of Present Shock, Teacher, and Documentarian
- Blake Shaw, Data Scientist, Foursquare
- Jason Spero, Head of Global Mobile Sales & Strategy, Google

Leading Insights on Creativity and Collaboration
The event will also feature a special conversation on creativity and collaboration with Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, moderated by Billboard Magazine’s Joe Levy.
A uniquely varied and accomplished artist, Martin is renowned as a comedian, actor, author and playwright, and Grammy-winning, boundary-pushing bluegrass banjoist and composer. Since bursting onto the national scene in the late 80’s, Brickell has carved out an iconoclastic solo career that's solidified her reputation as a uniquely compelling singer and a songwriter of rare insight.
Following their discussion, the duo will also play a selection from their newly released album, Love Has Come for You.
