Director Dean Blumberg has come aboard TWC Films, Los Angeles for exclusive representation in the U.S.
Dean has worked with countless clients and in the process acquired an impressive list of awards. At Cannes in 2012 he won a Bronze Lion for his Nandos “The Last Director’ spot as well as a Bronze TV Lion for his Santam ‘Sir Sneaky’ spot. Additionally he’s won a Lion for his First For Women ‘So Backwards’ spot. He has been the recipient of numerous other awards including a Silver Clio, a Creative Circle Ad of the Year, Gold Epica, New York Festival Bronze, and was a London International Awards Finalist. He also won a One Show Merit Award, CFP-E/ Shots Young Director’s Award, and Grand Prix, Gold, and Silver Loeries.
Dean was born storyteller. When he graduated from film school it was with Honors and three award winning short films. His films, which were officially showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, travelled the international festival circuits winning awards, which included the Fiction Award for Best Film at the World School’s Festival.
The start of Dean’s official commercial career is even more impressive than his academic achievements. His first year directing he won the Shot’s Young Director’s award in the non-European category at Cannes. That very same year he was chosen to debut in the New Director’s Showcase in Shot’s magazine. Soon after he won the Creative Circle’s Ad Of The Year with his “Ubuntu” spot for Ford.
Dean’s eclecticism, deep passion for his craft, and chameleon-like ability to adapt and evolve with different scripts has made him a highly sought after director.
TWC Managing Director Mark Thomas said “We’ve been watching Dean with great admiration over the last couple of years and are really thrilled that the timing is right for us to work together.”
At TWC Dean will join a roster of high-profile directors including Suthon Petchsuwan, Ken Lambert, Jean-Michel Ravon, Craig Teper, Jeroen Mol, Carolyn Corben, Kathleen Lorden, No Brain, Sven Super and Tim Brown.
