The new brand campaign for M&S - the first created by Valenstein & Fatt (Grey London) - launched this week, with the agency commissioning Soundtree Music to create the soundtrack. Directed by Francois Rousselet for Riff Raff Films, the film required a soundtrack to land at the heart of the story, in our life’s journey – to grab it, make the most of every moment and in a world of abundance – to spend life well.
Working with David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel was the icing on a beautiful cake for the creative team at Soundtree, but to be in a position to use that kind of original material also carried responsibility. Creating the balance of respect to the original work and artist and also to create something new with it - serving the narrative of the film, was handed to Soundtree’s Luis Almau.
Time well spent indeed.
