Darren Aronofsky’s Immersive Sci-Fi Experience 'Postcards from Earth' Set for MSG Sphere in Las Vegas

Academy-Award winning director, Darren Aronofsky’s latest creative project is one of grand proportions. The MSG Sphere in Las Vegas’s famed Venetian Resort is now home to “Postcard From Earth,” an immersive sci-fi experience, set to premiere on October 6. An immersive fantasia of how our future descendants will reflect on our shared home, “Postcards From Earth” celebrates the natural beauty and human achievement that enriches life on Earth.

Incorporating documentary and narrative elements, 'Postcards from Earth' creates a unqiue experience like no other. Shot on all seven continents, the immersive film is primed to make an indelible impact on the world of filmmaking as a whole. Shot specifically for the MSG Sphere utilizing a bespoke camera system capable of filming in 18K, “Postcards” takes full advantage of the venue’s custom spatial audio system and 4D capabilities, enabled through haptic seats and environmental effects. Aronofsky’s team on the project includes Oscar-nominated cinematographer Matty Libatique and Andrew Shulkind of Sphere Studios. 

The pioneering director behind this peerless film is also a founder of Chromista, a creative content company specializing in expanding what advertising can become. Known for setting the pace for where and how film is evolving as an artform, Aronofsky incorporating this technology in “Postcard From Earth” heralds that while this film is the first of its kind, it will quickly become one of many within the larger world of storytelling.
