Danielle joins Z.A.K. after 12 years in senior finance roles at kid’s content company WildBrain

Mike Sutton, president and CEO of Zulu Alpha Kilo, announced today that Danielle Neath has joined the maverick independent shop as chief financial officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the growth and financial health of the firm’s three offices in New York, Vancouver and Toronto.

Danielle joins Z.A.K. after 12 years in senior finance roles at kid’s content company WildBrain, owner of some of the world’s most recognisable children’s entertainment franchises such as Peanuts, Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake and Caillou. Previously she played senior finance roles at kids’ entertainment provider Cookie Jar Entertainment and technology solutions provider Softchoice.

In the past 12 months, Z.A.K. experienced a record 43% growth according to president and CEO, Mike Sutton. He added, “In response to technological and economic pressures, the industry is going through a period of radical change. We’re thrilled to have someone of Danielle’s depth and calibre to help us navigate this new terrain. Firms that don’t embrace this opportunity for transformation will be left in the dust.”

For her part, Danielle is happy to be on board. “I am excited to be joining a creative company with Zulu Alpha Kilo’s reputation. I’ve not only been very impressed with the quality of the creative work, but also with the systems it has put in place to manage its explosive growth. I look forward to helping continue that trajectory.”

One of the other reasons the team at Z.A.K. are enthusiastic about Neath’s arrival is that she is not from the world of advertising, but the world of content. Founder and creative chairman Zak Mroueh said, “As we expand and embrace new and emerging forms of content creation, Danielle’s experience will support our ambition to not only be recognised as a global creative leader but also as a global innovation leader. She understands the importance of striking that perfect balance between creative success and financial health, because you can’t sustain one without the other.”

In recent months, the indie shop has received accolades as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, a standout agency on Ad Age’s coveted annual A-List and was awarded Platinum status as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies as vetted by Deloitte.
