Kevin joins the agency from Wieden+Kennedy

CP+B announced that it has named Kevin Jones Executive Creative Director of CP+B LA. In this role, Jones will lead the creative department on all CP+B LA accounts including Charles Schwab, NBA2K, Applebee’s, A.1 Sauce, Grey Poupon and others.

Jones joins the agency from Wieden+Kennedy where he has spent the majority of the past 20 years working on numerous high profile campaigns that have become a part of pop culture. His work has won him back-to-back Emmys for the Chrysler Eminem Super Bowl spot and the noted P&G Olympic spot “Best Job”, the most talked about campaign during the London Olympics. He was also nominated for an Emmy for the powerful Clint Eastwood Chrysler spot.  Jones has created award-winning work for Dodge, Coke, Nike, Target and T-Mobile.  His work has been honored with eight Gold Lions at Cannes, Best of Show at the AICP, One Show, and Clios, The Grand Effie and a Webby’s People’s Voice Award among others. His work is in the Library of Congress as well as The Museum of Modern Art’s collection.

In addition, Jones is an accomplished musician and writer and has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas, where he is a graduate of their MFA program. He was a finalist for the Keene Prize in literature and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

“My career has been really varied and I’ve been fortunate to have been able to work with some really talented people along the way,” said Kevin Jones. “I’ve always been a fan of CP+B’s work, and joining the LA office is a great opportunity to work with some very creative and strategically smart people and, of course, do some amazing work.”

This has been a year of great momentum for CP+B LA and its creative teams. Sue Anderson, current ECD of CPB LA, has been the lead creative on a number of breakthrough campaigns including the “Kobe vs. Messi” spot for Turkish Airlines, which was the most watched spot on YouTube for 2013.  A few months ago, Sue chose to end her full time commitment to concentrate on a number of creative endeavors including working on her book.  In a testament to her commitment to the agency, Sue has continued to lead the department until Kevin can take over and she will still be a part of the agency working on specific campaigns.

“We were lucky to have Sue who led the creative group so brilliantly, and we’re lucky to get an extraordinary talent like Kevin,” said Mason Reed, Managing Director, CP+B LA. “He has done work that has truly transformed brands, and he shares our enthusiasm and dedication to the kind of ideas that steer cultural conversations and lead consumers to action. ”
