The Ad Club of Toronto’s annual Student Day is back for its fifth year. The event is unique in offering free attendance to current college students, recent graduates and newcomers to Canada looking to learn how to break into the advertising industry.
“The Ad Club of Toronto’s annual Student Day is always a highlight for college students. It’s a unique opportunity to access advertising industry leaders and experts for advice on transitioning from school to their careers,” said Caitlin Neve, vice president at Ad Club of Toronto. “Many former attendees are now thriving in the industry thanks to the connections made at this event. Our volunteers donate their time because we’re all passionate about nurturing the next generation of Canadian media professionals.”
This year’s Student Day has a hybrid agenda, with the virtual portion featuring expert panellists from top companies offering their experience and advice on networking and navigating a career in media. Cossette’s very own CCO, Sabaa Quao, will deliver a keynote at 12:45 p.m. entitled “Work on Your Creativity and Deepen Your Empathy: How to Prepare for the Next Era of Marketing and Advertising.” An in-person networking mixer is being hosted at 5 p.m. that evening in partnership with Cossette at its Liberty Village office.
“I look forward to spending time with students who are looking for the opportunity to be creative,” said Sabaa Quao, chief creative officer at Cossette. “The next era of marketing and advertising has plenty of room for flexible creative thinkers who want to collaborate in an industry that has an impact on all people. Creativity happens to be one of the critical skills that can equip a society to adapt to change.”
