Cocio, the chocolate milk, is cutting through the hype surrounding the new live streaming app Periscope with a tongue-in-cheek new Twitter campaign.
As brands start lining up to use Periscope’s live streaming capabilities, Cocio has decided to go its own way and ‘live stream’ something a little bit different.
Cocio, which uses the tagline #NothingButGreatTaste, has always remained honest about the fact that it is simply a bottle of chocolate milk made with three natural ingredients, cocoa, milk and sugar. It doesn’t claim to add anything to people’s lives other than great taste.
Cocio’s first foray into Periscope therefore stays true to its simple, honest values and wittily cuts through all the crap.
The Twitter ad showed a bottle of Cocio sitting under a spotlight doing very little, with a handwritten note saying: “We can’t give you live-streamed entertainment. We can only give you great tasting chocolate milk. #NothingButGreatTaste.”
The campaign, which is created by Holler, part of the Leo Burnett Group, was live earlier this week. The stream can be watched back on mobile devices using Periscope.
