Caviar is thrilled to announce they have signed the talented British-Swiss filmmaker Ben Strebel for UK & US representation.
Strebel’s approach to storytelling is consistently driven by strong casting, performance and story telling.
His path into film saw him tour with bands creating visuals for their gigs, before moving onto music videos for the likes of Phoenix, Crystal Fighters and The Big Pink.
His eye-catching work and experience as a multi-disciplinary filmmaker has meant that the young director has already directed several commercials & content pieces for brands such as BMW, VW, McDonalds, Vivienne Westwood, All Saints, the UK charity Missing People and Tesco’s.
His work has garnered him his short film / music video for Clock Opera “Once And For All” has won him numerous high profile awards and nominations - including being shown at the Raindance Film Festival, as well as London Short Film Festival and being awarded the prestigious Young Directors Award in Cannes in 2012.
His hard hitting immersive interactive piece for the French nautical brand Guy Cotton entitled “A Trip Out To Sea”, warning about the dangers of drowning, picked up 1 Gold and 4 Bronze Lions at the 2014 Cannes Lions.
His latest work for Fussverkehr, the Swiss pedestrian safety NGO; “Watch Your Step” was created in association with Ballet Zurich. It’s an intense and stunning visual piece, that follows a ballerina performing a dramatic piece of choreography, before a tragic, impactful ending is revealed. Strebel developed the idea with the client and picked up a creative director credit for the film.
Katie Dolan Head of Music Videos at Caviar London says “I can't wait to start working with Ben. I love his astute sensibilities with casting and performance. I'm looking forward to developing more beautiful stories with him”
