Hindmarsh to step down as M&C Saatchi CEO

Marketing communications agency, RPM, has recruited one of adland’s most respected talents, Carrie Hindmarsh, as Non Executive Director.

Formerly CEO of M&C Saatchi, Hindmarsh joins RPM on 1st September 2013 and will work closely with MD, Dom Robertson, to further develop the agency’s culture and strategy, whilst also mentoring RPM’s senior management team.

Hindmarsh’s appointment follows news that RPM recently strengthened its board by adding Robert Wilson (Strategy and Creative Director), Claire Drese (Head of Account Management) and Rory Sloan (Head of Production and Artwork) to integrate a broader top-level perspective that reflects RPM’s increasing diversification.

RPM’s MD, Dom Robertson, said: “Carrie is an unstoppable talent who’s at the top of her game. She joins us at a time when we, as an agency, are growing in both scale and scope. This is a crucial transitional period for RPM and her unrivalled expertise will provide invaluable input. We are at an all time high and Carrie’s addition to the team will ensure we maintain our position at the top of industry leagues. We’re honoured that she’s decided to become a part of the RPM family.”

Carrie Hindmarsh said: “My 22 years of agency experience have put me in the extremely fortunate position of being able to work in related and new sectors at a Non Exec level. RPM develops unique, relevant and engaging brand experiences that are best in class. They have an impressive client list, talented and committed people and a strong management team who have big ambitions for the future. I am looking forward to helping them realise those ambitions.”

Hindmarsh joins RPM after 22 years as a Saatchi lifer. She decided to step down from her role as CEO to pursue a portfolio career and to have the flexibility to spend more time with her children. Having started her professional life as a grad trainee at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1991, Hindmarsh switched to M&C Saatchi when it launched in 1995. She was promoted to MD in 2007 and to CEO in 2011.

Hindmarsh is a member of IPA council, WACL and is on the steering group of the 2% club which has been set up to improve the pipeline of women coming into business and to increase the number of women on Britain’s boards.
