Senior director, client services reflects on his background and the intersection that exemplifies the people of iProspect best

We’re back with Career X Culture, an ongoing series showcasing the talented people of iProspect and their unique backgrounds, passions, and accomplishments.

In this edition, meet Scott Randel, a senior director of client services at iProspect US, as he reflects on his background and the intersection that exemplifies the people of iProspect best. Read more about Scott and his role in the Q&A interview below:


Q> What is one skill that you use every day?

Scott> Business acumen. This really comes from experience and learning through trials and tribulations and being able to draw on that to handle tough times and good times.


Q> What was your first job?

Scott> My first job was as a golf caddy when I was 12 years old. I would wake up super early and bike over to get the first tee time. I'd say the most important lesson from that job is that the early bird gets the worm.


Q> What is your favourite aspect of iProspect?

Scott> The people, the passion, and the work. We're always pushing the envelope of what's possible. It's great to be at the frontier of the industry.


Q> Tell us about an accomplishment that you're most proud of during your time at iPro?

Scott> There are many, but one to call out is the response to covid-19. At the onset of the Pandemic, everyone pulled together, to respond to a massive change in how consumers were behaving. We were able to pivot our campaigns and lean into the changing consumer demand. On top of that, all employees really supported each other during the crazy time that it was.


Q> What is something unique about you, your background or your role that you bring to the iProspect community?

Scott> I bring client-side experience. I've been client-side at a couple of different places, both big and small. I have empathy and visibility into the big picture for our clients. I also have passion for innovation and teamwork. I really like working with people. I spend a lot of my time outside of work doing non-media activities, like canoeing, playing hockey, biking, and spending time with my family. I think having these hobbies help to make me a well-rounded marketer.


Q> iProspect is the intersection of _____ and _____?

Scott> It is the cross of innovation and passion. Everyone here is super passionate about their work and everyone leans in to help others. We also have amazing tools. I thought about adding intelligence to my answer, because we really have state of the art tools to understand what our consumers are doing and what the market is demanding at that moment.
