Canal+ Uses Fictional Fantasy Series ‘The Secret of Wakany’ to Poke Fun at Disappointing Endings

It's no secret that binge-watching has become a social phenomenon in recent years, as has rabid fandom of those oh-so epic fantasy series we just can't put down. For its new brand campaign, CANAL+ chose to highlight something we might have felt at the conclusion of these shows - disappointment.

BETC Paris and Partizan's Antoine Bardou-Jacquet have launched a cinematic new spot shining the spotlight on when your favourite series has suddenly become un-rewatchable due to disappointing finales.

The campaign features a young couple falling in love with a fictional fantasy series: The Secret of Wakany. Season after season, the couple's passion grows until it becomes almost obsessive. They sacrifice their nights, get the series' logo tattooed on their arms, and turn their flat into a museum of its glory. They talk Wakany, sleep Wakany, breathe Wakany... in short, they are addicted.

Everything is going well, until the evening of the last episode. The whole world is watching to finally discover the famous 'secret' of Princess Wakany. Only to receive... bitter disappointment.
