The update, rolled out ahead of Black Friday and Christmas, allows agencies to ‘press play’ on website campaigns whenever they like. Blutui’s Jayan Ratna talks LBB’s Tom Loudon through the update
New-Zealand based digital development platform Blutui has introduced Cassette ahead of Black Friday and the holiday season, a new feature designed to help agencies manage digital campaigns more efficiently while maximising profitability.

Cassette enables agencies to launch sites quickly, coordinate campaigns, and collaborate seamlessly across teams — all crucial as agencies face growing margin pressures and head into the festive period juggling various campaigns.

With Cassette’s 1.0 release, agencies have access to tools such as multi-version development and management, multi-developer collaboration, and A/B testing all within a single platform. These features streamline developer workflows, reduce errors, and maintain creative control, the business told LBB, allowing agencies to deliver high-quality work across multiple campaigns.

The anticipated Cassette 2.0 update will enhance these capabilities further, introducing GitHub integration, new tools for campaign scheduling, and version control to streamline cross-team coordination.

As the name of the feature suggests, Blutui wants agencies to have the option to ‘press play’ on a version of a site whenever they like, allowing them to plan and schedule holiday campaigns, for instance, well in advance.

Jayan Ratna, Blutui product designer and lead developer, said he hoped to alleviate the industry-wide struggle of website development, plus bottlenecks and set-up complexities.

“We know from years of experience that dealing with multiple client briefs and ensuring execution happens on time can pose significant risks to the client’s business,” Jayan told LBB.

Cassette’s capabilities, including version control and instant rollback, allow agencies to meet these challenges, making it easier to handle urgent client demands without risking errors on live sites.

The flexibility Cassette provides also allows agency teams to juggle a variety of campaigns and general updates within one platform.

“The GitHub integration will supercharge this process by automatically creating and merging Cassettes based on whatever developers do within GitHub,” Jayan added.

This feature, combined with upcoming tools for campaign scheduling, markup, and multi-region support, reflect Blutui’s commitment to adapting to agencies’ evolving needs, Jayan said.

As he put it, “This is the future of digital campaign management for agencies.”

Many traditional web development platforms rely on complex local and production environments, requiring significant setup and configuration. Setting up websites and digital campaigns is time-consuming and involves different development skills.

By automating the labour-intensive aspects of web development and offering a white-labelled, agency-branded product, Blutui delivers flexibility, speed, and control over digital projects.

The platform offers creative freedom across various project types, from campaign microsites to large data-driven platforms. The business has also integrated AI into its platform to enhance developer productivity without sacrificing creative control, allowing projects to be set up “in seconds or, at the most, minutes — not hours or days,” as Graeme Blake, Blutui founder, explained.

Jayan also highlighted Blutui’s AI-powered Components feature, which allows developers to quickly generate code for elements like forms, hero sections, and micro-interactions while adhering to specific brand guidelines.

“Blutui Components offers front-end developers the advantage of flat-out speed while ensuring they still have granular control over project elements,” he explained.

With the platform now gaining traction in Southeast Asia and Europe, Blutui said agencies have responded enthusiastically to its promise of improved productivity, and therefore profitability.

Blutui has an ambitious roadmap to make Cassette the centre of campaign management and agency collaboration. The planned GitHub integration will allow developers to sync their work directly with Blutui, enabling seamless collaboration across multiple developers.

Additional features like campaign scheduling, markup tools, and multi-region support are also in the pipeline.

“We are helping agencies realise their full potential in a category they typically struggle with,” Jayan said.

“Digital delivery frustrates most agencies — many to the point of turning their back on it completely … we are here to address that problem.”
