BIRTH UK Appoints Megan Leigh Wright as Head of New Business

BIRTH UK has appointed Megan Leigh Wright as head of new business. The appointment clearly signals BIRTH UK’s future ambitions following a hugely successful 2021 under the stewardship of Kate Elson. Megan alongside Kate and partners Hugo Legrand Nathan, Yohan Ungar, Tristan Beraud and Arthur Emorine, will be instrumental in building BIRTH UK’s already impressive directors’ roster, championing their work and creating ongoing opportunities for them. 

Megan joins BIRTH UK following four years at Darling Films, part of the Ridley Scott Creative Group. Previously, Leigh Wright worked at Another Film Company. She studied film at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles, and prior to that studied at Guildford School of Acting and the Academy of Contemporary Music.

In just one year since heading up BIRTH UK, Kate has taken the company to the next level with impressive signings and new premises in Soho to accommodate the growing team. In the last three months alone, BIRTH UK has signed award-winning directors Devon Ferguson and Rafael Damy, with both already shooting their first projects. Damy, who has never been represented outside his native Brazil, collected a remarkable three Grand Prix awards and the inaugural New York Festivals SeeHer Lens Awards - all in 2021. Meanwhile, three of BIRTH UK’s talent - Jan Gleie, Ugo Mangin and Matvey Viks - were just named Best Directors in the recent CB News annual hit list, with BIRTH positioned as Fifth Best Production Company.
