To raise awareness around the preservation of wild bees that don't produce honey, yet are key to the development of biodiversity, BETC has transformed its CSR report into a hotel for bees.
BETC is committed to a CSR approach, be it through the ecologically responsible design of its advertising campaigns, the sharing of its sustainable messages, or even the promotion of a new vision of sustainability.
That's why, in the same vein, the agency created 'Bee'n'Bee', an original way to raise awareness around the preservation of wild bees, essential to pollination.
Wild bees are as useful in nature as their domestic cousins that produce honey. Indeed, they contribute to 80% of pollination of wild plant species, 75% of cultivated plants and 90% of fruit trees. However, wild bees are in danger of extinction even though they are vital to the preservation of our environment.
To raise awareness around this critical issue and launch discussions that could foster sustainable solutions for wild bees, BETC is offering a second life to its CSR report by turning it into a hotel for bees.
In their natural habitat, wild bees are used to shelter themselves in small cavities: a snail shell, a plant stem, in tree holes... By recreating these with pages of the CSR report, BETC is giving its readers the ability to provide a shelter for bees
Special versions of the report were printed on water-proof mineral paper containing pumice stone to guarantee the durability of the object in every type of weather conditions.
