Director Nehemias Colindres has created an ode to the city of Berlin in his new short film. The Los Angeles-born filmmaker was so inspired by the many shades of his adopted home town that he wrote Berlin, Berlin, a poem to the German capital.
“The film is a poetic visualization of our beloved city. It takes us on an emotional journey throughout Berlin, it shows us the highs and lows of what it means to be in Berlin. The inspiration arose from the constant battles faced while trying to survive in this city. ‘What is it that binds us to this city?’ Is a question asked by many,” he said.
The film juxtaposes lively clubs and children exploring the city’s parkland with scenes of loneliness and dilapidation and traverses the whole spectrum of life in Berlin.
