Get the lowdown on the incredible journey of Chuxx Morris for this edition of Behind the Stereo.
Chuxx> We were just rolling through name ideas maybe like 12- 13 years ago. My name is Charles, people at the studio called me Chuck or Chucky, and Chuxx Morris was what we landed on. Sounded close to Chuck Norris, which was funny. And that’s the name we chose, and that’s the name I’m stuck with now.
Chuxx> I would most definitely prefer to face an earthquake. I grew up in Southern California, so I’m used to them. Never faced the ghost, so I’d rather not.
Chuxx> I was a band geek. I played clarinet for several years and then in high school I played saxophone, so I was into music. I probably started playing drums towards the end of middle school, and guitar. I wanted to be a rock star in high school, stared bands and stuff, and started writing songs.
Chuxx> I would say that leans like alternative, rock, blues, like gritty stompy goodness.
Chuxx> Would be Santa Monica, CA., so beautiful there, so close to all the cool stuff. I like Oregon, close to Portland. It’s green and I grew up in the desert and live in the desert now, live in Las Vegas. So green is nice. Maybe like San Diego or Oceanside, like right off the beach.
Chuxx> The best part about being an independent artist is being independent.
Chuxx> Being a SoStereo artist is awesome. I’m super happy to be working with you guys. You guys are working the music, you guys are shopping around. So thank you so much for all that you do. I appreciate it.
