Cerveza Victoria, Mama Hungara MX and Wieden+Kennedy MX developed the campaign

Mama Hungara MX, the ever-evolving audio visual production company, and Wieden+Kennedy MX, the renowned independent creative agency, proudly present 'Recuérdame Viviendo,' an emotional commercial for Cerveza Victoria. Directed by emerging Mexican talent Fernando Cattori and starring Natalia Solián, one of the country's most prominent actresses. This campaign offers a profound narrative about memory, life, and nostalgia.

This project marks a milestone for Cerveza Victoria by conceptualising the campaign as a short film rather than a conventional advertisement. “The team was brought together with a cinematic vision,” commented those involved. The production featured cinematography by Diego Tenorio and five filming units, highlighting the contribution of aesthetic realism expert Gina Velasco as the director of the digital unit, who adds, “It makes me proud as a Mexican to be able to capture our celebration so authentically.”

The campaign remains true to the traditions, symbols, and spirit of the Day of the Dead. Filmed in Oaxaca, an iconic location for this festival, the commercial emphases that advertising does not always need to be explicit in its background, form, and content. It can be an anecdote, a very human gesture, as in this case, the story of a daughter’s mourning.

Mama Hungara executed a brilliant 'shortmercial' embracing an innovative convergence between cinematic and advertising language, demonstrating that both can come together in a solid and coherent narrative. In a country like Mexico, this project reflects how it is possible to balance both disciplines within a single narrative proposal.

'Recuérdame Viviendo' combines striking visuals with a sensitive and authentic narrative, honouring the tradition from a contemporary perspective. The visual and emotional approach seeks to capture the essence of the celebration, evoking both the solemnity and festivity characteristic of this date.

The campaign will premiere at the Morelia International Film Festival, Mexico's most significant cinematic event, where international premieres, feature films, and short films are screened each October. This launch positions Cerveza Victoria not only as an advertising reference but also as a vehicle for connecting with the audience from the most intimate and culturally significant perspectives.
