BBH London has appointed Jon Chapman as executive creative director of its rapidly growing health department.
With more than 17 years’ experience in healthcare and consumer advertising, Jon joins BBH from Leith, where he was executive creative director. Previously, he was chief creative officer at BBDO Health in New York and CCO of Havas Lynx Europe.
Jon has a wealth of experience in running agencies from a creative leadership position, growing business and nurturing talent. He’s joining the BBH health team with a remit to lead and elevate the health department’s creative vision, grow the offering and continue to raise the bar of creative excellence and effectiveness.
Jon has previously worked on global campaigns and local initiatives, including disease awareness, patient activation, brand launches and social programmes across multiple therapy areas for multinational pharmaceutical companies as well as smaller health-tech start-ups.
His creative excellence has resulted in multiple award wins including Cannes Lions, Clios, D&AD, One Show, and LIAs.
Jon is joining the health leadership team of Jon Barnes, managing partner and Fran Griffin, group strategy director and partner and will work into Alex Grieve, global chief creative officer.
Jon said, “Working at BBH has been an ambition of mine since I first started out in advertising. When the opportunity came to join the health team, seeing their talent, drive and passion - and the fact they are thoroughly good people - I jumped at the chance.
“Being able to work alongside Alex and the leadership team is really exciting, and the ability to build on the great work they do for brands in health, felt like the perfect fit. I can’t wait to be part of it.”
Alex Grieve, global chief creative officer, BBH, added, “It's time for the BBH health department to go from very good to great. Jon has the talent, the experience and the ambition to get us there. He is the best of the best and yet remains grounded, humble and kind. We are honoured to have him join us.”
