Appointed Chief Digital Officer alongside Mel Exon

The former head of marketing for BBC One, Drama & Entertainment, Lindsay Nuttall, has been appointed joint Chief Digital Officer at BBH.  Nuttall, who was previously Global Head of Strategy and Communications at ASOS, will be focused on creating mould-breaking digital work for clients and driving digital growth for the agency.

Nuttall will partner with Mel Exon, who was promoted to Chief Digital Officer in August, and completes the line up of a newly formed digital senior leadership team for the agency, which also includes Jason Gonsalves, Chief Strategy Officer.

BBH has been investing in its digital offering to clients over the last four years. The agency has created digital work across 75% of its clients, including industry leading interactive ideas for Burberry, ASOS and Unilever’s Axe (Lynx) Apollo. The agency now has experts in-house in all areas of digital including interactive production, UX & Design, creative technology, Social, Performance Planning and Data. BBH’s ambition is to deliver high performance, culture defining, creative ideas for every client that are stitched into the heart of their businesses.

Ben Fennell, CEO said: “Lindsay is someone we have admired for a long time. At a time of unprecedented change in our business it's more important than ever to see things with a client's perspective. Lindsay and Mel have complementary skills and backgrounds, and a shared vision for what Digital at BBH will become. "

Lindsay Nuttall said " BBH is on a mission to completely re-invent what agencies can deliver for their clients in the digital space and create the most culturally defining work on the web.

To be asked to help write this exciting new chapter in BBH's history is an honour. I am thrilled to be partnering with Mel to make it all happen."

Mel Exon, Chief Digital Officer off BBH said: "I'm very excited to have Lindsay as a partner. Big plans need world class talent and experience, something this lady has in spades."

BBH was the Webby’s Interactive Agency of the Year in 2012 in recognition of its interactive Urban Tour work for ASOS. ASOS also won a gold and two bronze Cyber Lions at Cannes last year. In 2013, BBH’s online work for the domestic abuse charity Refuge won the Grand Prix at the Creative Circle awards.  The agency’s online work for British Airways, which enabled users to watch a plane taxiing down their street, was awarded Best Use of Digital Communications at the Travel Marketing Awards in March and “Picture your holiday” work picked up a FWA award.
