For its Christmas ad this year, Barbour has retold the classic story of The Snowman, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The perennial favourite was created by author and illustrator Raymond Briggs with the well-known and well-loved score by Howard Blake, who is published by Music Sales Creative.
'Maybe Just Maybe' was directed by Iconoclast's Roland Kennedy, with creative by The Corner. It follows the narrative of little Edie and her quest to meet The Snowman. Set on Christmas Eve, Edie is cosily watching The Snowman with her family, and is inspired to fly. Christmas Day dawns and with it the crunch and sparkle of a freshly laid snow, so she sets about building a beautiful snowman, then patiently but determinedly waits for him to come to life. As night descends, she stays hopeful, braving her way through the chill thanks to her dad’s gentle encouragement and his cosy, beloved Barbour. What happens next? You’ll just have to see.
