Today, digital agency Bambino, part of the ZAK Media Group, launches a retro-style animated website for Bodo’s Schloss, the Kensington-based Alpine-themed bar and restaurant, sister venue to A-lister Mahiki.
Targeted at wealthy London socialites in their twenties, the website aims to capture the chilled out ambiance of an après ski bar and bring to life the playfulness of Bodo’s Schloss. The design takes inspiration from retro video games to leverage the nostalgic trend.
The animation takes the visitor on a journey from the reception of Bodo’s all the way through to the club. Key homepage features include an old school plane and a hot air balloon floating across the screen. To keep content on the site fresh, the colour and feel of the homepage changes depending on the time of day and year. The animation element of the site is supported by Instagram photos as well as quirky illustration in line with the Bodo’s brand.
To capitalise on the brand’s well-established social channels, links to social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Google+ are seamlessly integrated into each of the pages, allowing visitors to access everything in one place. ‘Make an enquiry’ is heroed on every page of the site and newsletter sign-up messaging pops up at various points throughout the user journey, ensuring effective data capture for Bodo’s Schloss.
The site uses HTML5, to deliver high interactivity and multimedia on portable devices to the end user, without having to use additional plugins.
