Line up features Nils Leonard from Uncommon London, Susan Credle of FCB, and other creative visionaries

The Commercial Communications Council (Comms Council) has announced that AXIS Speaks is back after a four-year hiatus with an epic line-up of world-class creatives. The event is set to take place on Thursday 23rd March 2023 at Shed 10, Auckland, New Zealand.

AXIS Speaks is the premier event for New Zealand's creative advertising community. This year's event aims to inspire a broader audience, including clients, CEOs, CFOs, and other members of the business community. The Comms Council is dedicated to raising the event's profile and showcasing the incredible talent in New Zealand's creative industry.

The line-up for AXIS Speaks 2023 includes four creative powerhouses that are set to inspire and challenge the audience. The first speaker to be announced is Susan Credle, global chair and global chief creative officer of FCB. Susan is a passionate advocate for diversity in the industry and is the first female chair of The One Club for Creativity. Her presentation promises to inspire and challenge the audience to think differently about creativity.

The second speaker is Rydr Tracy, head of educational transformation at Creatable. Rydr is an education executive who has worked in a number of senior roles across the NSW Department of Education. He is expanding the evidence base for educators by strengthening the connections between industry and schools. Rydr's presentation will explore the future of education and how it can better prepare students for the challenges of the future.

Nils Leonard, creative superstar of Uncommon London, joins the line-up as the third speaker. Nils has spent over 20 years in the advertising and design industries, working at some of the most recognised agencies in London. In 2017, he founded Uncommon Creative Studio, which aims to build brands that people in the real world actually wish existed. Nils' presentation will focus on how creativity can make a positive impact on society and the world.

The final speaker at AXIS Speaks is none other than Ray Edwards - a director and cinematographer who's made a name for himself in the film industry over the past thirteen years. After quickly becoming a sought-after DOP, Ray's debut feature film 'Cousins' made him the second Māori cinematographer to shoot a feature film. In 2021, Ray released his directorial debut, the short film 'True Love', and his first TV commercial garnered national acclaim, with its campaign song reaching #1 in the charts.

In addition to the fantastic line-up, the winners of the Aotearoa Young Lions Competition will be announced at the end of the event. The AXIS Award winners will also be revealed at the AXIS Awards Show to be held later that evening.

Tickets are now available for both AXIS Speaks and the AXIS Awards and can be purchased here.
