The latest addition to Telstra’s ‘Wherever We Go’ brand platform brings a fairytale to life in regional Australia.
The spot from Bear Meets Eagle on Fire with +61 follows a cobbler -- who is either a genius or straight up magical, I’m yet to decide -- as he drives his moving shoe cart around town.
It’s whimsical and fits in perfectly with the existing platform, whilst also giving us something entirely different. In some ways, it’s reminiscent of the brand’s Christmas ad, which featured an equally whimsical singing donkey travelling the country, and also shone a spotlight on regional Australia. Except this time, the spot targets businesses -- the telco is willing to invest just as much craft and care into a B2B ad.
Then there’s the moving shop itself. Built from cement, tiles and bricks, it must be as heavy as it is detailed, but it floats effortlessly through the landscape on camera. Revolver director Steve Rogers told LBB "the intention was for it to look like a very real store that had once been part of a small town’s main street, serving locals for generations.”
Craft is trending. And between stop motion puppets, 20,000 dominos, paper-craft OOH, and now an enormous travelling shop, it’s fair to say that Bear Meets Eagle on Fire with +61 are leading the way.
