Assembly, the global media agency within the Stagwell network, has announced the promotion of Dan Roberts to global vice president for search, further strengthening its commitment to innovation and performance marketing.
In this new global role, Dan will report to Matt Adams, global chief operating officer, and will be responsible for shaping Assembly’s future-facing search strategy; elevating its talent, products, services, and performance capabilities through AI-driven insights and integrated channel activation.

Joining Assembly in October 2023, Dan’s promotion reflects his exceptional track record in leading transformation across Assembly’s search offering. Under his leadership, the agency has delivered exceptional client performance, secured high-profile new business wins, and nurtured a strong search community; most notably through the launch of its industry-leading development programme, the Search Academy, which equips next-generation search specialists with the skills to thrive in an AI-powered future. He also played a pivotal role in Assembly’s recognition as Microsoft Advertising’s 2024 Performance Partner of the Year in Europe.
As global VP for search, Dan will focus on unifying and future-proofing Assembly’s global search proposition; integrating advanced automation, generative AI, and real-time consumer and business insights to deliver measurable outcomes for clients across markets.
Beyond his role at Assembly, Dan is a recognised industry leader. He was named one of Google’s Top 20 Search Specialists, and recognised by Adthena as one of the UK’s most influential voices in Paid Search. He regularly contributes to industry events and publications and is the founder of Search Engine Hubbub, a platform dedicated to demystifying the future of search marketing and encouraging knowledge sharing among Paid Search professionals.
