The creative team at BigTime Creative Shop is running full steam ahead, delivering their third big global campaign in what is less than six months.
After ‘Day of Reckoning’ and ‘Ring of Fire’, their latest campaign ‘Knockout Chaos’ has gone live featuring the former unified World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua and former MMA Heavyweight Champion and new Heavyweight Contender Francis Ngannou in all-out brawl. The film is a promotional trailer for the fight that is set for 8th March at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia and is part of Riyadh Season.
The high-quality cinematic production sees the two fighters facing-off against each other, in a visually stunning, arcade-style combat execution. Asked about the development of the idea, Rayyan Aoun, the chief creative officer at BigTime said, “Francis is one of a handful of fighters who has made the transition from MMA to professional boxing. So, to us and fans alike, it felt like an arcade game where you have the best from both disciplines coming together to fight.
Just like selecting two power punchers and setting them up in a ‘Street Fighter’ inspired world.
Player 1 Vs Player 2. So that was our idea and how we intended on bringing it to life. After that, it was a matter of collaborating with the right people, including some of the world’s best pixel artists and letting them work their magic.”
According to Sehly, the CEO of BigTime, “The film is every boxing and MMA fans dream of seeing two big heavyweights throwing it down in the ring. We’ve seen Mayweather and McGreggor. But this is different. These are two absolute beasts capable of total chaos, with impressive knockout records. Hence the campaign title – Knockout Chaos.”
So, we don’t give away too much, the film sees Anthony and Francis facing off in New York in the early '90s (that’s when this arcade-style became popular) bumping heads and fists, sending each other flying across continents and countries. What’s eye-catching and fresh is the execution and manner in which they land in the different countries. That’s all we’ll give away for now.
Bigtime Creative reached out to Academy Films who produced the latest promo. They’ve previously produced music videos for the likes of Madonna and Beyonce and were recent winners at the 2024 BAFTA awards. It was directed by Romain Chassaing, director behind ‘Day of Reckoning’ while post-production was undertaken by The Mill. Who brought together leading pixel artists from around the world, to create this arcade-style, visual eye-candy of a promo.
With such level of craft, detail and storytelling going into every project that leaves the doors of this creative hot shop, it’s no wonder they’re work is receiving critical acclaim across the board.
