Counter culture art magazine Animals Mag has launched a dark new project produced by alldayeveryday and director Andrew Baird. The creepy short film delves into synthetic humans, and how they will challenge both our humanity and sexuality in the future.
This project is a teaser for a feature film, Zone #414, written by Bryan Edward Hill. The film will star Antonia Campbell Hughes (Lotus Eaters & Under the Skin) and Barry Ward (Ken Loach's Jimmy's Hall). The feature, which director Andrew will be shooting in Ireland next year, is being produced by Evzen Kolar, KPI Entertainment (City of Industry) and co-produced by Fantastic Films, Ireland (The Hallow, The Last Days on Mars).
Commenting on the project, Andrew said: "I made a long form video for The Weeknd entitled 'Kiss Land', the title track of his first full album. It was inspired by Bladerunner. ICM saw it and sent me a script about synthetics called Zone#414. It's an amazing script dealing with where, we as humans, are going with technology and the development of synthetic beings, and how this power will effect our souls and our sexuality. Dealing with Jung's theory of facing one's shadow self; Zone#414 is a near-future noir."
