After over a decade in Canada, award-winning colourist Ana Escorse joins Rodeo FX as a senior colourist. Her skills are now part of the ever-growing roster of the creative company's advertising and experiences division, which has successfully worked on campaigns for renowned brands such as McDonald’s, Tiffany & Co and Red Bull, and is now expanding its offering by adding an established colourist and colour suite to its services.
Originally from Brazil, Ana moved to Vancouver in 2012 before settling in Toronto six years later. Her internal reach, going far beyond Canada, had her collaborating with prominent brands like Spotify, Mercedes, and Adidas, as well as renowned musical artists such as Drake, Rema, and Charlotte Cardin.
Ana’s journey as a colourist started on set, where she first heard about colour grading, and immediately felt attracted to the role.
“Once I started pursuing colour, I saw it was a field highly dominated by men. I didn't see diversity. I wanted to be for others what I didn't see for myself.” explains Ana.
This conviction and desire to push the boundaries of the industry propelled Ana to the title of senior colourist working at companies such as Nice Shoes, Alter Ego and former Sim Post (now Picture Shop). She quickly recognized that creating beautiful work was only half the job. Building connections and getting to know people were also fundamental aspects of the colourist role. Ana fully immersed herself, recognising the importance of the intricacies and uniqueness in each project and client. This commitment is reflected in her eye-catching style and striking portfolio, which enabled her to propel herself within the industry on an international level.
“Ana has a unique creative signature and a strong sense of style that is seen throughout her entire body of work. Her talent and distinct aesthetic make her a fantastic addition to the Rodeo FX team." said Romain Demongeot, executive creative director at Rodeo FX Advertising & Experiences.
In 2022, her work on the music video for Lovezinho earned her Best Music Video at the Filmlight Colour Awards, an international award that takes place at CAMERIMAGE Film Festival in Poland. In 2023 Ana returned to the Colour Awards on the Jury Panel alongside Lawrence Sher ASC (Joker 2019), Greg Fraser ACS, ASC (Dune 2021, The Batman 2022), Natasha Braier, ASC, ADF (Honey Boy 2019, The Neon Demon 2016) among others. Throughout her career, the partnerships Ana has fostered have not only showcased her exceptional talent but also established her distinctive style as a colourist within the industry.
“Having been in the business for years, I find myself utterly captivated by Ana's extraordinary achievements as a colourist. Her work, which is celebrated not just in Toronto but on the international stage, exudes a vibrant and audacious uniqueness that is rare and highly sought after in our field. We are extremely excited to have Ana join our team as her talent brings a new dimension of creativity that we eagerly embrace.” said Connie Dercho, executive producer at Rodeo FX Advertising and Experiences.
Joining the Rodeo FX Advertising and Experiences team, Ana brings not only a shared interest in channelling creative energy into projects but also a determined drive to produce stunning work. As an immense asset to the team, she is well-positioned to help expand Rodeo’s global presence with her colour talent.
