This year marks the 150th anniversary of American Standard, designers of award-winning tubs, sinks, toilets and faucets (note: American Standard is a subsidiary of LIXIL, a global leader in housing and building materials).
Yes, American Standard has been around for 150 years, but the company recognises it wouldn’t be where it is today without its consumers. So, to mark the occasion, as well as reward its current and future customers, American Standard will be giving away $150,000 in down payments as part of its “150th Down Payment Contest.” From now through the end of June, 10 people will earn $15,000 each to help with the payment of a new home. All they have to do is share their story of how having a warm, inspiring and inviting home of their own would change their life and the lives of those they love.

They’ve invited us into their homes and inspired us to make products that seamlessly fit into their routine. On the occasion of our 150th anniversary, we are delighted to give something back. That’s why we created the ‘150th Down Payment Contest.’ It’s a way of saying it may be our anniversary but you get the gift. After all, there’s nothing like celebrating together.”
And to support the contest, American Standard is fielding a comprehensive marketing program including video, digital media, partnerships with HGTV’s Home Town Show…and more. The goal is to leverage the celebration of the brand’s past and build lasting connections with another generation of new homeowners. The tagline is “Life. Love. Home.” Media will run in both the US and Canada from now through the end of June. Work was created by Hanson Dodge which was named LIXIL’s agency partner last year.
