Encouraging fans to show their support for their nation during the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta – Palembang, Octagon in collaboration with leading creative-tech company AliveNow has launched a mesmerising Facebook Augmented Reality camera experience for Mastercard.
The Mastercard Facebook AR camera effect lets users pay homage to indigenous Indonesian tribes, by allowing themselves paint their faces with tribal face paint, record messages of encouragement for their nation and share their messages on social media throughout the 2018 Asian Games.
“Mastercard is proud to be part of the Asian Games 2018. To enliven this special moment, we are collaborating with AliveNow providing a fun and interactive way for Mastercard cardholders with our AR Camera Filter which can be found at Mastercard booth at the Stadium GBK Zone,” said Tommy Singgih, director, Mastercard Indonesia.
The Facebook AR Camera Filter has already garnered incredible numbers as thousands of users have played around with the filter and have virtually experienced tribal facemasks with high tempo tribal music. Mastercard even set up a kiosk on ground, where users could try out the filter on the big screen, driving that much more interest and excitement among fans at the venues.
Iciri Rai, senior account director for Octagon said, “Working with AliveNow for our Mastercard campaign has been a pleasure. The AR Camera Filter they developed for our Asian Games activation was extremely well received for its creativity and the UI for this has also been lauded by our client and consumers alike. We look forward to working with the AliveNow crew on more such innovative projects.”
After working on this activation, Siddharth Satyanath, senior strategist at AliveNow added, “From the vivid colours, to the tribal music, this entire experience was mesmerising. It was one of the most engaging ways of getting users to try on tribal war paint from around the world, and tie it all back to the Indonesia, the host of the Mastercard Asian Games 2018!”
