adam&eveDDB London has appointed award-winning creatives Amber Casey and Nicola Wood, who are teaming up for the first time as creative directors.
The senior appointments mark Ant Nelson and Mike Sutherland’s first hires since stepping up to the chief creative officer roles earlier this month.
Nicola joins the team from Ogilvy, where she was executive creative director, while Amber, who started her career at BMP which went on to become DDB and latterly adam&eveDDB, was a creative director at MullenLowe until 2022, before freelancing for a number of agencies.
Nicola is a multi award-winning writer, CD and ECD, and has been named in WARC’s top 100 creative rankings for five consecutive years. Most recently as ECD of Ogilvy UK, she helped the agency secure a position in the top five most awarded creative agencies in the world.
In 2023, she was listed in the D&AD top 20 most awarded creative directors and in the top five copywriters.
With hundreds of awards in her locker, her most famous work includes the culturally impactful ‘Have a Word’ integrated campaign for Mayor of London, which won a coveted D&AD White Pencil and Cannes Glass Lion.
The cheeky ‘Hornicultural Society’ campaign for charity Relate was one of the world’s most awarded campaigns in 2024.
Before Ogilvy, Nicola worked for a decade at RKCR/Y&R with some of Britain's best loved brands including Marks & Spencer and the BBC.
Since 2022, Amber has freelanced across companies including YouTube and Ogilvy and was previously creative director at MullenLowe UK, where she created work for brands including Knorr, The British Heart Foundation and women's empowerment and poverty alleviation charity MicroLoan Foundation, winning a Gold Effie for her innovative ‘Women 4 Women’ campaign.
Amber has also held creative roles at agencies including BBH and RKCR Y&R and worked with brands such as Dove, Marmite, Land Rover, Oxfam, BBC, British Airways, Virgin, Levis and Lloyds. She’s been awarded by the likes of Cannes, D&AD, British Arrows and One Show.
Her career was kickstarted with seminal work including Volkswagen ‘Bollocks’, one of the world’s first viral ads, and Harvey Nichols’ ‘Fashion Victim’.
Ant and Mike said, “Amber and Nicola joining adam&eveDDB is a huge win. We’ve been lucky enough to work with Amber on a freelance basis, so are thrilled to welcome her as an official part of the team and we’ve been eager to work with Nicola for years.
“They are creative powerhouses with world-class credentials in their own right, so we’re incredibly excited to see what they’ll come up with together in this new partnership.”
Amber said: "Nothing much has changed in the 20 or more years I last worked here. It’s still full of the best creative minds, best briefs and clients who come to adam&eveDDB for that magic.
“Joining as Ant and Mike have become CCOs made it a no brainer to return, as they are just so bloody good at what they do and care so much about the work and all the people who make it happen.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be joining forces with Nicola, who is a phenomenal talent and great fun too! I can’t wait to see what bonkers and brilliant things we can achieve together.”
Nicola added, "From the moment I met Ant and Mike I knew it was a great fit. I loved everything about them, from their honesty and integrity to their amazing client list and ambition for greatness.
"adam&eveDDB has consistently done great things and I’m beyond excited to get the chance to do great things with them too. It’s something I’m doing without Andy [Forrest] but with his blessing, we both know how fabulous Amber is from our RKCR days.
"For me, stepping back into the role of creative director is a huge leap forward because I want to be much closer to the work again - and I can’t believe I get to do it here. Pinch me, I must be dreaming."
