On the back of Adam Gunser’s film for Bank of Melbourne via Saatchi & Saatchi - a rags to riches tale entitled 'Waddle' that chronicles a penguin pursuing her dreams - Goodoil has officially announced his signing to the roster.
In his first year as commercial director, Adam was awarded at Cannes, Axis and One Show for his efforts on Ford’s ‘Balloons’ - no mean feat for a new director. Adam also topped the class at Cannes the following year with two Silvers and a Young Director Award for a campaign with the Education Board of NZ.
Beyond awards, Adam has also worked with Pedigree and Colenso BBDO to solve the empty-nester crisis through the ‘Child Replacement Programme’ - a campaign that did, once again, garner a host of awards at D&AD, Clio, One Show plus Gold and Silver at Cannes. As such, the campaign became the Gunn Report’s 3rd Most Awarded Campaign in the World 2017.
Says Sam Long, EP, Goodoil: “It’s an absolute pleasure to have someone of Adam’s calibre join the Goodoil roster. His strong visual aesthetic, with equal measures of story, performance and comedy, makes for a lethal combination. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Adam.”
Recently, Gunser directed UK comedian Richard Ayoade in HSBC’s ‘Mind Your Own Business,’ upping Ayoade’s inherent hilarity with cinematography that is both beautiful and delightfully off-centre. He crafted a visual signature for HSBC, as he does for every client. Adam’s mastery of narrative, tone and genre means his spots aren’t just humorous, they are convincing and insightful.
