A Week with Matt Cooper and ANZ Creatives

A Week with Matt Cooper and ANZ Creatives

Australia’s creative community was in the spotlight last week as LBB CEO Matt Cooper headed to Sydney to bring The Immortal Awards showcase to town. It was a week filled to the brim with meetings with the great and the good of the local industry, ending with a wonderful lunch hosted by Matt and Toby Hemming, MD APAC.

Sydney showed off all its glory to Matt with blue skies and scorching hot days, while creatives welcomed him and the team with open arms and big smiles. In a true creative exchange, the LBB team enjoyed immersing themselves in the buzzing community, while also sharing some inspo from around the world in the form of the Immortal Awards screenings.

Reflecting on his visit, Matt had this to say: “It's been an incredible week. We’ve been in house showing our Immortal Awards reel to many and to finish with a lunch for 90 of Sydney’s best creative folk from agency, prod and post folk was just incredible. The timing is most certainly right, and we are going to grow a larger local team and help push hard on local creativity and help it be seen more globally. It’s been one of my favourite weeks since starting LBB as we move further into more local markets’.’

Throughout the week, the conversation kept returning to the desire for positivity and celebration in the market. Creativity in advertising and marketing is never a solo job - and the week was all about championing collaboration and strengthening bonds, not least through the jubilant lunch event, which brought together LBB members from across agency, production and VFX.

It was also a chance for the local LBB team of Toby and new reporter Casey Martin to lay out their vision for bringing the best of Australian and New Zealand creativity to the world and helping to nurture that positive spirit.

Toby wrapped things up perfectly when he said, "What a week. They say the planets align only once every hundred years or so, but this was without doubt one of those times. Having spent a year building a strong presence for LBB across ANZ and beyond, it was so fantastic to feel the love and energy from everyone this week. A huge thanks to all the production, post-production, agencies and marketers who continue to give us so much love and support. Creativity needs a positive community and we are here for you. This is just the beginning for LBB in the region, and I'm seriously excited to see how we build upon the amazing foundations that have been laid down."
