Home buyer demand has spiked in recent years. And while they might be more selective than in years past, sellers who list during the fall months can often be at an advantage.
With spooky season around the corner, Opendoor wanted to show homeowners that any reason - and time - is a good enough reason to move. Cue 'Vampire.'
In this thirty-second spot, viewers see a vampire peering out her window only to find her neighbour gardening garlic. Thanks to Opendoor, the vampire can swiftly sell her home to avoid the neighbourly nuisance.
Selling a home is daunting. 'Vampire' challenges sellers who would rather accept home inconveniences than go through the complications of selling to think differently. This spot uses humor to introduce Opendoor as the easy way to move and sell a home - no matter the reason or season.
The concept was inspired from day-to-day work building Opendoor’s social media strategy. VaynerMedia uncovered the insight that content featuring homeowners kickstarting their home selling journey due to a seasonal reason was a top performer. So, Opendoor took that finding, added a seasonal twist, and turned it into TV-quality content to empower sellers in an untraditional time of the year to sell.
'Vampire' was directed by Emmy-winning director duo Sean and Ryan Mcllraith. VaynerMedia was the lead creative agency and Eva Nosidam Productions was the lead production agency. The video is live on social, OTT, CTV, and broadcast.
“Opendoor knows there are plenty of reasons to move,” says Opendoor chief marketing officer David Corns. "We wanted to remind homeowners that selling a home during the fall and winter months can also be the right move. After all, moving should happen on their timeline - no matter the reason or the season."
“We were excited to partner with Opendoor and VaynerMedia to help bring this humorous spot to life that deals with very relatable problems…nightmare neighbours and selling our homes. Working with a great team on such fun creative was a blast.” said Sean and Ryan Mcllraith.
