A Pool, a Party and a German Rap Star

The idea for Paradise Delay emerged in mere seconds during a party at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity in June 2023. Florian Lakenmacher and Maximilian Olowinsky of Supreme Music, Simon Heeger of 2WEI, Nikolaus Grunert and Kolja Bustorf of Not A Machine collectively decided, "Next year, we’ll just throw the party that everyone wants to attend. Together. Here in Cannes."

Initially, it seemed like a whimsical idea, but once it became clear that this event was actually going to happen, it was obvious that the challenge had to be taken seriously. Time to harness collective strengths to create something extraordinary.

Planning began ten months prior to the event, with ambitions beyond a typical villa gathering or pool party. The team envisioned an unforgettable experience for their guests, which led them to invite MARTERIA, one of Germanys most famous rappers, to perform by the pool. His involvement not only provided a special guest but also inspired the party's name, 'Paradise Delay,' after one of his songs. The venue selected was an extraordinary villa in Super Cannes, offering stunning views over the bay of Cannes and the Croisette from multiple levels.

Guests were transported from the Croisette to the hillside villa via shuttles, where they enjoyed complimentary drinks and food from 2:00 PM onwards. Around 5:00 PM, MARTERIA took over the pool with his live show, passing the stage at 6:00 PM for the Euro match Germany vs. Hungary. After the game, a very cool pool party with DJ SHOWI developed, lasting late into the night.

​Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, praising PARADISE DELAY as one of the best parties in Cannes in recent years. With 450 guests in attendance, the collaborators - 2WEI, NOT A MACHINE and SUPREME MUSIC - received significant recognition for their joint e\ort. Social media responses have been enthusiastic, highlighting the event's success and its positive impact on the brands involved. Above all, the event provided immense enjoyment for the organisers and reinforced the notion that their combined efforts produced an exceptional result.
