At a time in which people who identify as being of African descent are still vastly underrepresented within advertising, PR and related industries, Black History Month needs to be one of the many vessels through which authentic, systemic change is made.
But who is responsible for bringing about this change? What will it take? Progress has been made but why is it so slow?
This February at 72andSunny NY, we told the human stories of the Black folks in our office in hopes that it inspires the industry to reflect, answer those questions honestly, and start collectively doing the work to make advertising as a whole more equitable.
