72andSunny Amsterdam has announced the arrival of its new Director of Design, Richard Harrington. Known for producing considered yet powerful work, Richard brings a depth of experience from across both the ad industry and art community. He has a cluster of award-winning campaigns to his name, for a mix of brands that includes adidas, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Pepsi and Bacardi. Richard has also crafted artwork for many musicians including creative direction of the band Jane’s Addiction’s latest US tour, and is a notable artist in his own right, exhibiting work across the US and Europe.
Yorkshire-born, he’s lived across the world and brings yet another layer of international flavour to 72andSunny Amsterdam. He joins the diverse team of 24 different nationalities to look over the entire design output; from mobile innovation with Google, to product design with Carlsberg and everything in between on the world's most important brands including adidas, Samsung, Axe and Smirnoff.
Previously at 180 Amsterdam, he returns to the city from the West Coast, where he worked as Head of Design at creative agency 180 LA and taught at the Art College of Design in California. Richard is particularly excited to be able to indulge his passions for art, design, history and fashion in the heart of Europe.
