A selection of inspiring filmmakers who can still get out and direct under their countries’ coronavirus restrictions
Live action production has been hit harder by Covid-19 than most parts of the advertising industry. It relies on shoots, which combine a variety of behaviours that are way out of line with many countries’ lockdown and social distancing guidelines. On top of that there are closed borders and travel restrictions. But in these difficult times production is going on, in some places and under certain conditions, whether in studios or on location and sometimes under specific circumstances. The Production Service Network (PSN) has a helpful, up-to-date table on its website detailing what is allowed in certain locations and it shows over a dozen countries where production is possible at the time of writing.
So if your favourite directors are locked down or unable to work right now, why not check out one of these phenomenal talents, all based in places where they are allowed to go out and shoot live action.
