Director Armin Korsos and Cyclist Phil Fox Take on Guinness World Record Attempt Across Lake Huron

1,000 Miles. No Sleep. No Stops. The Lake Huron World Record Film Is Now on Kickstarter

What does it take to ride 1,000 miles around a Great Lake - without stopping?

That’s the question at the heart of The Huron Pursuit, a high-stakes documentary following endurance cyclist Phil Fox as he attempts his fourth Guinness World Record ride - this time around the perimeter of Lake Huron. The film is now live on Kickstarter, with just 25 days to fund a project as ambitious as the ride itself.

“This isn’t a typical doc with talking heads and safe terrain,” says director Armin Korsos, founder of Caymanite and the camera movement company Dynamic Camera Systems. “It’s one continuous ride. No sleep. No re-dos. We’re chasing Phil in real time across 1,000 miles of road - with camera cars, specialty rigs, and a skeleton crew just barely holding on.”

Phil has already completed record-setting rides around Lakes Michigan, Erie, and Ontario - each pushing him to the edge physically and mentally. But it’s not just about endurance. Every mile is fuelled by something deeper: a personal connection to the MS community and a mission to raise awareness for those living with the disease.

“This is my way of giving back,” says Phil Fox. “MS never lets up - so on these rides, neither do I.”

The film is more than just a document of a world record attempt. It’s a story of purpose, perseverance, and how far someone will go for a cause they believe in. It will also support fundraising efforts for BikeMS, with a major screening planned at Chicago’s legendary Music Box Theatre this fall.

“This project isn’t just about the ride,” adds cinematographer Chad Gilchrist. “It’s about resilience. It’s about what drives someone to do something this hard, again and again, when no one’s asking them to. We’re just lucky enough to try and keep up with a camera.”

Backers of the Kickstarter campaign will help bring the film to life - from production through post—while joining a larger movement to tell stories that matter, and preserve a series of records that might not stand forever.

“We don’t know how long Phil can keep doing this,” Armin says. “Or when someone else will come for the record. But we do know this: if we don’t film it now, we may never get another chance.”

The Kickstarter is live until May 30th, 2025.
