Sharon Liu

Sharon Liu is an artist, director and designer based in London, UK. 

Known for her unique colour palettes and elegant handcrafted artwork, her sensitive character designs have led to commissions for official animated incarnations of musical icons like Nina Simone, John Lennon, Ella Fitzgerald, Donna Summer, James Brown and Mariah Carey. 

She has extensive experience working on music videos, commercials, short films and feature films.  

She specialises in handcrafted techniques that include traditionally and digitally hand-drawn, oil paint, watercolour, cutout, charcoal and mixed media animation. 

She has earned awards at festivals around the world, including Annecy, Pictoplasma, Hiroshima,  LIAF and Cannes Lions.
