Joyce Shi

Joyce Shi (she/her) is a concept-driven, award-winning design director based in New York.

She is also the founder of G Axis Press, a self-publication practice. A selection of her works are featured at bookstores, galleries, exhibitions and book fairs around the globe, including Thomas J. Watson Library at the MET.

Joyce’s creative philosophy is deeply rooted in the concept of “design forward,” challenging the role of design to go beyond a mere container or presentation of ideas, but the idea itself. With this guiding principle, Joyce centres her practice around building systems and experiences, which manifests in a variety of forms and mediums, such as brand & campaign identity, book & editorial design, digital design and art direction.
