To promote the launch of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty with Xbox Game Pass and the new Battle of Zhongyuan DLC that just released with Xbox Game Pass, Mutiny, an integrated gaming-focused agency, collaborated with Chinese craftsman Andy Chi to create the world's first fully functional Xbox controller made of genuine jade.
Inspired by the in-game jade talisman, Mutiny's aim was to establish a tangible connection between the game and Xbox, while also honoring Chinese culture in an authentic manner. Directed by Tiffany Frances, the team produced a short documentary detailing the process of making the controller and telling a story of an intersection of technology and craft in a way that felt relevant to the Xbox brand.
The documentary is posted on Xbox’s YouTube channel, while the controller will be auctioned off to benefit Stop AAPI Hate.
This activation coincided with the release of the Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Battle of Zhongyuan DLC on June 29th. The DLC is paid content and is not included with the Game Pass subscription.
