As part of their ongoing commitment to protect and preserve the land that is home to Wyoming Whiskey, the company tapped agency partner 77 Ventures Creative to create Chapter Three of their 'Wide Open Spaces' campaign, launching two collectable limited-edition products National Parks No. 3 and The Grand bourbon whiskies. With the release of these two new products, Wyoming Whiskey will be making a donation of $150,000 to Grand Teton National Park Foundation (GTNPF). Previous chapters in the campaign have benefitted the National Park Foundation and Yellowstone Forever.
The distinct Fall 2023 bourbon releases featured in the campaign pay tribute to Grand Teton National Park. National Parks No.3, a Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is aged for a minimum of five years, is inspired by the winding Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. Also included in the release is The Grand collection, which is made up of three unique single-barrel rye bourbons, each aged ten years and deemed to be exceptional at their natural barrel strength.
The product launch is complimented by two films produced by Boomshot and shot in Grand Teton National Park. 'The Grand' and 'Tetons,' both with the return of director Will Atherton, who has helmed all film instalments in 'Wide Open Spaces,' including previous chapters 'Yellowstone - 1872' and 'Wide Open Spaces by Air, with Boomshot’s Connor Cassidy joining as editor. The films feature majestic scenescapes from Grand Teton National Park with a voiceover remarking on the significance of this peak within the Rocky Mountains and marking this era as a peak time for American whiskey.
Michael Haje, president and creative director of 77 Ventures Creative and Boomshot founder, says of this latest chapter of the campaign, “Wyoming Whiskey’s commitment to supporting our National Parks is ongoing and inspiring. The Wide Open Spaces campaign provides a great creative opportunity for 77 and Boomshot. With the chance for 77 to design and develop new products and evolve the Wide Open Spaces program working with the Grand Teton National Park Foundation, and for Boomshot to shoot the amazing Grand Teton National Park by land, water, and air and create the video content to support the brand, series, and products.”
77 Ventures Creative’s Alan Leusink leads the design efforts of this chapter of the 'Wide Open Spaces' campaign as head of design. The creative mind behind the concept and label designs, 'The Grand,' features three custom labels chosen to capture the different seasons of The Tetons, and the varying barrel strengths of The Grand collection. Each collectable bottle is accompanied by an artfully crafted wooden box, etched with the topographical elevation of The Grand Tetons. Wyoming Whiskey commissioned Woodchuck USA to craft the wood box the bottle come in utilising sustainable wood.
For National Parks No.3, Leusink chose The Snake River as the central imagery for the limited-edition bourbon. By honing in on the inspiring geography of Grand Teton National Park, the unique reflection on the water of The Snake River is reflected in the copper colouring of the label and bottle details, emulating the sunset as seen from above.
